48x40 GMA pallet - the standard size pallet for shipping in North America is called a GMA pallet and it's size is 48x40. We grade our pallets depending on the condition they are in. Bright wood pallets that are slightly used are grade 1 while pallets with bright wood mixed with grey wood are grade 2. The two most widely used pallets are 48x40 GMA pallets and are called stringers and block pallets. Stringers are used by most businesses we supply. Block pallets are used mainly for large wholesale businesses that require certain specifications on the pallets.
- Our pallet design team design new pallets for your business. We have special software that can design a pallet based on your load needs and size requirements. Many businesses have come to us to design and manufacture custom new pallets. Our pallet manufacturing plant designs, builds, and delivers your pallets so you can have complete control over the process and meet your deadlines or keep your pallet inventory up.
- Pallets come in many sizes most notably 42x42, 48x36, 48x42, 44x44, 48x48. Most larger pallets are custom made for shipping a specific product. Larger pallets and smaller pallets are difficult to reuse because they were designed for a specific purpose. Pallet sizes other than 48x40 have very little value if any, and most of the time cost money to recycle. Typically a pallet size that is not a 48x40 GMA pallet will have a charge per pallet to recycle and a charge to pick up.
